Since niether of us had any idea on how to make a fountain it seemed a class, or workshop, was in order. Fortunately, Carla Brooke from "Studio in the Trees" was offering just such a workshop at the nearby Hakone Gardens. Our half-day class was attended by 8 students. Below are some pictures taken during the class and the results of our initial efforts to make indoor fountains.

We each brought our own bowls in which to build our fountains. Our sensei, Carla, (center) provided all the other materials and gave instruction. |

But after she got home we really revised it. This is the final fountain in Yoshi's studio. |
